These Balance terms describe how balances, tips and payouts work in the code today. They take effect when MiraDock turns on payments.

What a balance is

A balance is prepaid US-dollar credit you spend inside MiraDock Games: on Store items a Creator sells, and on tips for the Game you are playing. You need a signed-in account to have one.

You add to it through Stripe Checkout, paying by card, in one of three fixed amounts: $5, $10, or $25. There is no custom amount. A balance does not expire and earns no interest.

Non-refundable and non-transferable

Adding to your balance is a final purchase of platform credit. Top-ups are non-refundable, except where MiraDock chooses to refund one or the law requires it.

A balance belongs to one account. It cannot be sent, sold, or transferred to another Player or account, and Creators cannot receive it directly.

No cash-out

A balance cannot be withdrawn, redeemed for cash, or paid out to a bank account or card. It only leaves your account when you spend it in a Game, or as described under refunds, disputes and account closure below.

Tips

A tip is a payment for a Game you are playing, for content the Creator has already provided. You can only tip from inside that Game: with the “Tip the creator” button on its play page, or when the Game opens the tip sheet. You cannot tip a person outside a Game, and a Creator cannot tip their own Game.

Tips are from $1.00 to $500.00, paid from your balance. The tip sheet shows the split before you confirm: the creator receives 80%; MiraDock keeps 20%. A tip grants a “supporter” mark in that Game. It does not buy access to content; Creators may not lock the Game behind it.

Platform-initiated refunds only

You cannot cancel a Store purchase or tip yourself. Only MiraDock can refund one, for example after a problem you report. A refund returns the full amount to your balance, not to your card, removes what the purchase granted in the Game, and reverses the Creator's earnings from it.

Each purchase or tip can be refunded once. To ask for a refund, email support@miradock.com with the Game and what went wrong.

Chargebacks and frozen balances

If a top-up is refunded through Stripe or disputed with your card issuer (a chargeback), that amount is taken back from your balance. Your balance never goes below zero. If you have already spent the money, your balance is frozen: you cannot make purchases or tips until the matter is resolved.

If the card issuer decides the dispute in MiraDock's favor, the amount is restored and the freeze lifts automatically. If you think a freeze is a mistake, contact support@miradock.com. Creator earnings from earlier purchases are not affected by a Player's top-up dispute.

Account closure

When an account is closed, any unused balance is forfeited and is not paid out. An account with pending or available Creator earnings, or a payout in progress, cannot be closed until those are settled. To close your account, email support@miradock.com.

Disputes and contact

Questions about a top-up, purchase, tip, freeze or payout go to support@miradock.com. Please contact MiraDock before disputing a charge with your card issuer; most problems can be fixed with a refund to your balance.

Creator take rates

Rates are read from MiraDock's live fee configuration and apply at the time of each purchase or tip. The platform fee is rounded down to a whole cent; the Creator receives the rest.

Payout schedule and minimum

Creators are paid through a Stripe Connect Express account (United States, US dollars). Earnings are held for at least 7 days. A weekly payout run starts on Mondays at 14:00 UTC: earnings older than 7 days become available, and an available balance of $10 or more is transferred in full to the Creator's Stripe account. Smaller amounts carry over to the next week.

A Creator is paid when that account is active with payouts enabled, no payout hold is in place, and the Creator's MiraDock account is not suspended. A refund of a purchase or tip is taken from pending earnings first, then from available earnings. MiraDock may hold payouts while it reviews reports, refunds or suspected abuse. Stripe then pays out to the Creator's bank on its own schedule, under Stripe's terms.
